What Is A Isolating Switch

Date: | Read: 97

The Isolating switch, also known as the isolating knife, is a commonly used high-voltage switch. It is mainly used for isolating power supply, reversing operation, and connecting and cutting off small current circuits.

When the isolation switch is in the "part" position, there is a certain insulation distance between the contacts and an obvious disconnect mark; In the "on" position, it is necessary to be able to carry current under normal loop conditions and current under abnormal conditions (such as short circuit) for a specified period of time.

The isolation switch has an open point with an obvious visible break point, the static contact and the moving contact are generally directly exposed to the air, and there is no need to configure a complex arc extinguishing device, which can be used to turn on and off the circuit with voltage and no load, and connect and disconnect the no-load short line, voltage transformer and no-load transformer with limited capacity.
