POST INSULATOR
Post insulator is a kind of special insulation control, which can play an important role in overhead transmission lines. In the early years, post insulators were mostly used for telephone poles, and slowly developed in the high voltage wire connection tower with a lot of suspended insulators, which is to increase the creepage distance, usually made of silicone or ceramic, called insulators. The insulator plays two basic roles in the overhead transmission line, that is, supporting the wire and preventing the current from returning to the ground. These two roles must be guaranteed. The insulator should not fail due to the flashover breakdown caused by changes in the environmental and electrical load conditions, otherwise the insulator will lose its function, which will damage the use and operating life of the entire line.
